
Mitzvah Volunteer Program (MVP)
For Boys & Girls in Grades 6–7
The Friendship Circle Mitzvah Volunteer Program (MVP) is a unique club that teaches the art of giving, volunteering, and making a difference in the world. Participants will explore the Jewish perspective on helping others while learning about various disabilities and appropriate conduct when volunteering.
Program Highlights
- Four engaging sessions at the Friendship Circle of Washington – Mercer Island
- Inspirational lessons, hands-on activities, and multimedia presentations
- Perfect Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation
- Qualifies as a Mitzvah Project
- Eligible for community service / Chesed hours
- No homework!
Through MVP You Will Learn
- The importance of giving back to the community
- How to interact appropriately and sensitively with children who have special needs
- Critical skills for effective volunteering
- How to plan and coordinate a culminating event for children with special needs and their families
